I am a fruitarian living in Chicago with my beautiful wife Laurie and our vegan dog Heath. It took me about 2 years to transition into the 80/10/10 lifestyle after reading the book. Before becoming 100% raw vegan I was vegetarian for about 3 years. I was ignorant of the abuse to cows and chickens in the dairy and egg farms. I was also fat and sedentary. Now I am thin and active. I've lost over 60lbs and I run over 50 miles a week. I am training for the Chicago Marathon in October. I love the way I feel when I eat fruit and I love helping others. I have inspired a few people to read 80/10/10 and adopt the lifestyle. Dr. Graham, Durianrider and Freelee have had a great impact on me and have taught me that there is a better way, a healthier way that is not only better for me everyone. Eating fruit is the best for health and for the planet! I have a blog that I update quite often and I write about being a vegan/raw/fruitarian quite often. Check it out at empowernetwork.com/gabesmith. Looking forward to meeting more like minded people. I am so happy a site like this exists for us crazy fruit hippies of the world. Thanks, stay happy and healthy everyone!

My wife and I are both Raw Vegan and I am High Carb Raw Vegan. But i don't really have too many friends that live the lifestyle and i would like to meet more people. My entire family still eats meet and for my nephew's 1st birthday they roasted an entire pig in my moms backyard. GROSS, makes me want to vomit knowing that the pig probably had more intelligence in his poor little head than my baby nephew does. It's not enough that I've lost over 60 lbs on the diet, no one in my family wants to try it. They're happy for me but they don't see the problem with their own SAD diets. I wish I could help them before they get sick and die.

I don't know if you have had the opportunity to listen to the speakers on the Brilliant Body Health Summit or not but I think the majority of them transitioned slowly and some are still not 100%. It's all based on what works for your body and your life... I'm sure you will get there in your time.. Never beat yourself up about it, just continue to move forward...
Hi Gabe. I have only been on this forum since April. That's when I when 811. I am not 100% but VERY close. I go for 5-7 days at 100% then have a day or two with a small amount of vegan snacks or something. I am learning that this is a long journey and to have patience. I am definitely happier and healthier. I look forward to watching your journey through your videos... thank you for sharing!
