I became a vegetarian in 2012,a little bit more than two years after I had been in UK. In fact I was not really eating much meat here in UK but I had no real facts about it either. I had heard that vegetarianism makes one feel better but I did not have a real interest in it until I saw how cruel the meat industry was. I had no idea what was going on in slaughterhouse and I am still surprised I was so brainwashed that only after being on this planet for 22 years I actually started to look for answers. About a year after eating cheese, cheese and more cheese I started to feel that eggs and dairy are not a way forward. I did feel better on a meat free lifestyle, but only emotionally. The only physical benefit I felt was a relatively more peaceful digestion - no more pain (which I thought for my entire life was just normal). But the digestion was slow anyway and I did not lose a single kilo. I was gradually incorporating more and more vegan food until I had replaced almost anything with a vegan alternative. I did this because I was willing to slowly transition to a vegan diet but at the same time I was still eating lots of processed vegetarian meals that just needed to be heated. The reason I did this was because I always wanted something to be ready as quick as possible due to working long shifts and not really having much time in the kitchen. Eventually I just felt sick from having so much grease in my food. On 22nd October 2013 my body felt forced to move to a plantbased diet and it was probably one of the best decisions in my life. By that time I already knew you Freelee and Durianrider and you have been my biggest support ever. I'm currently being on Raw till 4 as I find it so easy and delicious. And all my meals are ready within less than 30 minutes anyway. I had no weight gain. I lost about 8 pounds in the first fours weeks of going vegan. I can now run 5k without having to stop. I would like to go raw for some time to speed up the healing process in my body.
