Hi, :)
I received your question. Below are my answers...
I have a spinal injury. I used a pretty standard Ironman Inversion Board (about $140, LX300) to help my spine. It was recommended to my by my massage therapist. --It worked wonders. I highly recommend one if you have the space for it.

Right now I don't have the space for it. But I am doing well with modified inversions: like wall supported handstands & standing forward bends. In the past I hung on (either from hands or from hips) the equipment in parks or in gyms. That felt good too (but I like the asst. wall handstands better). I also do some restorative yoga regularly (& dance too), to keep things from being too tight & getting pushed out of alignment.
Not carrying really heavy bag or things helps as well (I use a backpack now instead of a shoulder bag, & I try to not carry heavy cases of fruit, or really heavy luggage, or super heavy bags of groceries anymore, when possible -- in the past I would pick up & carry everything & anything -- I try not to do that now).
I hope that helps.
