I am vegan 9, vegetarian 25 years. I went vege to help animals and gained excellent health in the process. I was born in San Francisco, raised in Monterey, California. Mom was a community activist and astrologer. She encouraged us to be independent, question everything and right any wrongs we discovered. I belong to PETA since they started in 1980. I have three dogs and a beautiful daughter, Kristin. I have organized and attended several animal rights events. My goal is to create peace for all beings.

I attended the Living Foods Institute 10-day raw vegan diet event last summer. I am about 50% raw vegan now. I grow my own wheatgrass, sprout beans, juice and blend daily, reversed my own back pain with juicing.

Hi Patricia, I am so sorry about the loss of your Great Dane. We just do what we can and hope for the best. Just being a loving presence for them is so important!
Animal protein is very hard on the system of dogs so I would not give your little old Honey any more of that stuff. I would do a water fast with her if it was me. I was advised to water fast until a few days past any symptoms going away. So I would watch the lumps going away. I would just take it day by day and see how she does, take her to another room or outside when others are eating.
I am so sorry to hear about your sweet dog's cancer! If it were my dog I would water fast him and take it day by day to see how he does. I water fasted our golden retriever dog for 30 days and he had no problems at all. I was advised by Nora Lenz who is a raw food educator and has site on pet health. She advised me to water fast a few days past his last symptom. He had an ear infection (a very puffy ear), I tried all kinds of herbs and garlic but only water fasting worked and only after 27 days! We did not eat in front of him but would put him in a room or outside so he did not think about food during his fast. We continued to give him short runs in the park and he had oodles of energy throughout. His coat became very shiny and his smell changed for the better. We gave him a fresh bowl of Reverse Osmosis water every day and made sure we saw him drink regularly. He lost some excess weight but never got too thin. He put on maybe 5 pounds back after the fast. I like Ami dog food because it is GMO free. Hona has a good supplement for veggie dogs. GMOs have been shown to cause all kinds of problems in lab rats. Have you seen the youtube film 'seeds of death'?
Keep in touch, let me know how it goes!
