Hey! Thanks for responding to my post :) I don't know of any events going on in the next few days, nor am I hosting any events, but we could make some of our own...are you still going to be in the Sac area? Send me a message or email me at meganugarte86@gmail.com I can't message you yet or else I'd just message you my number :)
Actually, I've currently landed in the Middle-of-Nowhere, SC. Lovin' it ya'll!
Hey there, sorry I took so long to get back to you. I was traveling for work, then traveling on vacation, then moved.. haha life's a whirlwind! Anywho, it won't let me reply now unless we are officially "friends" on the site.
So I guess I'm awkwardly asking, will you be my friend? :P
fruit is readily available especially in places like cartagena at all hours of night even the 7 11 type of shops sell fruit and veg 24hrs.
other places its hard to find fruit late at night but still in mercados fruit is very cheap and getting used to certain sellers always pays off getting discounts and such.
plus in cali, where i am now, there are peach palms which are my new fav. i dont want to leave just because of this.
i hear ecuador is the same with similar climate but maybe cheaper, nothing great mentioned for peru but im sure its there
ive been in panama, and now colombia for the last 3 months, ecuador for a week and peru for a month!
Oh, and the bit about honesty... it just has to be done. I love the night, but no point in living in the dark. Thanks for support on that, was quite apprehensive about including all of the info, but was hoping it would help someone else who is coming from a background of significant emotional turmoil.
Ah, that answered some of my questions from my last comment. Excellent advice! I did stock up on bananas yesterday because I noticed some of the ones from my regular grocery store seem to be ripening really slowly.
The advice about the paper bag and apple trick for colder climates is really helpful! Thank you! I'm a little concerned that this diet will become more difficult when I move to NYC, and I'm worried that the changes might add pressure that I won't be able to handle. One day at a time, though.
The salad a day sounds good. My idea yesterday was to try to combine it with the dinner plan (the pasta I actually didn't even want), but to be sure to eat it before the pasta. Today, I am also trying to make sure I eat more bananas and some mangoes, because without the pasta I actually got up last night right before bed and ate another banana. I was hungry enough to not fall asleep, but not hungry enough to make bad choices, so I can live with that. Just trying to make sure I eat more today.
Haven't tried a smoothie yet, and I also had the idea of mixing juice with water to help me get enough. Both of those ideas are on the to-try list. haha
Thanks again for your suggestions and support. It means the world to me. I'm happy to get advice from someone with years worth of experience too - that's awesome! Way to go for sticking with it! :)
It's a lovely day here in Texas! Just got home from a lovely wedding :)) I'm glad it's going well for you!! Hehe, if I stuck my thumb out I would go west! California is callin my name :)) But if I got to fly... I'd love to take a trip to Iceland or Australia!! What about you:)
