My name is Val and I have been raw til 4 for 10 months now. It's completely changed my life. Before I started I was vegan for 8 months and lost 20lbs. However, I did it through lots of calorie restrictions, no fruit, and ended up binging on the weekends. Food and being skinny was all I thought about. Then I stumbled upon Freelee's videos and everything made so much sense. And honestly, I was sick of obsessing over weight. I just couldn't do it anymore. I switched over to no calorie restriction Raw til 4 and immediately loved it. Since switching over I've had lots of energy (no more coffee or afternoon naps) and havent been sick once. I think the best part is my mental attitude has changed. I no longer exercise because I ate something bad or ate too much, I do it because I want to keep my body healthy. I no longer go to bed with my stomach growling, I go to bed completely full and satisfied. I could go on and on. Living raw til 4 is actually really easy for me since I live in Ethiopia. Fruit is super cheap, abundant, and organic. For dinner I can eat 1 kilo of potatoes for 25cents. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is Raw til 4 has changed my life, and I'd love to join a community to help build it up and encourage it to others.

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are...
I am a huge traveler! I backpacked across the continent of Africa (from Cape Town to Cairo) by myself using only public transportation. It was the best 7 months of my life and now I live happily in Ethiopia, although I'm originally from the US. I love reading books and my favorite authors are Marianne Williamson and Paulo Coelho. Although I'm hoping to start reading more books by Persian authors. I'm starting a food manufacturing facility in Ethiopia that would produce teff chips that are vegan, gluten-free, and OIL free. I still think fruit and starches are best, but growing up with lots of Mexican food I miss my chips and fresh salsa! These chips are basically made out of teff with a couple natural seasonings on top. My background is in social work so I'll use the facility to also support women farmers and employ at risk individuals like those coming out of prostitution, single mothers, and the disabled. I'm starting to raise funds for it next week so wish me luck :)

The Frugivore started this site to bring together frugivores across the Globe! Let us know what high fruit assistance do you need?
I just want to join a community of vegans for the encouragement and motivation. Most of my friends and family are not vegan and at times it gets tiring defending and trying to educate them. I'm still going to keep up with it, but it would be awesome to be around more like minded individuals. I'd also love to share my story with those still having doubts, because I know what it's like to be struggling, but I also know how good it feels to be Raw til 4, and I think I could help inspire others.
