I have been researching vegan eating for years now, because my daughter is not a meat eater. Even when I was pregnant with her I was drawn to eat vegan. Currently I am trying to make the change to go raw vegan for myself. I was using spark people to try and keep track, but the cron-o-meter gives me a much better idea of my intake.
I have chemical sensitivity which has caused my allergies to go crazy. The lymph nodes in my neck and tonsils are swollen and uncomfortable. I had my androids removed due to the swelling. My lymph system in general has gone crazy as I have noticed edema. When I get sick it's like I crash. Even on good days I regularly pop alieve due to joint and muscle pain. I see doctors and although they do not out right say I feel they do not believe me and most certainly do not know what to do. Not to long ago they decided I had high blood pressure after trying 2 different meds which MADE me feel worse and the second actually raised my blood pressure. I stopped taking the blood pressure medicine and after eatting vegan my blood pressure was normal. Yet the doctor still sent me home with hypertension propaganda, because they have in my records that I have hypertension.
Since I changed my diet, which is a work in progress, that my neck and tonsils do not feel painful pressure. I don't have joint pain and my back muscles are not in pain. And I do not have to pop alieve to feel that way. I have reduced swelling in my feet and ankles. And of course blood pressure is back to normal since the meds put it out of wack. Hey not to mention weight loss.
My family are omnivores and don't think fruits and veg only is a healthy way to eat.
The perfect example is when my daughter and I had bananas and dates for breakfast. I offered the regular sad options to my daughter, but she was happy to eat bananas and dates. I happened to be be speaking with my grandmother who made the comment that that was not a healthy breakfast.
