  • Buy secondhand.

Its the environmentaly friendly way - rather than having a new bike produced (wasteful) get one that already exists.

Get advice before buying - from someone who knows more, the internet or even a bike shop (LBS are good to buy the extras from).

There are many good brands beyond just Giant and Trek.

Most secondhand bikes have hardly been used c.f. with the mileage they're capable of.

  • Why not support your local bike shop for your purchase instead? While it may cost more, you get the added benefits of repairs, warranty and the shop can begin to hook you up with deals if your a frequent visitor. I've had a buddy of mine purchase a carbon road bike online from an online dealer and his bike works fine. However, I'm not sure if it was bikesdirect.com or not. Anyway, I say go to a local shop and buy a bike.

    • i can't afford a bike from a local shop.

      • Yes you can. You just have to want it bad enough mate!!! :)

DON'T buy a bike online if you are noob cos you will 100% buy the wrong thing and just waste money mate.

Get a Giant Avail or Trek Lexa and get fitted up proper to it. Watch all my cycling videos on youtube for tips on what pedals etc to get or get a copy of my cycling ebook to learn in a day what literally took me over 20 years to learn.

      • Ok well in that case, any bike you can afford is the bike to ride. Grab a bike, get on it and #pedalovereverything.
