Cruel Products (& Companies that test on ANIMALS)
I know most people, even women, get annoyed by the Feminist harangue, so in today's post I'll only focus on the beauty standards women have been pressured into, as well as the companies that target us. We (or at least 'I') live in a world where women are pressured into gender roles: look good, be quiet, and take care of the cleaning. We are targeted throughout the day with advertisements telling us we need to buy this, use this, wear that, eat that, and you will look more attractive, be…

Hey everybody. If you follow Freelee's YouTube channel, what are your thoughts on here seemingly endless body-shaming videos she has been posting for awhile now.
My thoughts are, that while she claims that she is not body shaming, she definitely is. I think she makes valid points about health concerns and how individual's health effects society as a whole on a political/economic level and I do believe she is concerned for people's health and wanting to promote a healthy lifestyle... but she is still going out of her way to publicly humiliate people based on their dietary choices and their weight/appearance. While obesity and poor diet are very threatening issues, I think she is completely ignoring the threat that bullying and shaming cause to our health, especially young womyn and girls. What are your thoughts? I am completely against body shaming, and she does make valid points that people should not shame those who are skinny either; but I do believe what she is doing is wrong. I don't believe people should discourage others from adapting a healthy lifestyle--if the person is upset with their body or comes to you with a concern, but you should never go out of your way to publicly humiliate someone for their health/health choices. Animal rights issues are a whole different ballpark... those who support the meat and dairy industries should be condemned for their issues.
What are your thoughts on this?
What an inspiring video!
I was recently wondering what profession I'd most like to see women gain more equality in, and I came up with Film Producer. Women made up 18% of producers for the top 250 movies in 2011. And I think that percent is lower for the top 20 movies that we actually watch. Imagine how women could impact media if this dynamic changed.
please help spread the video I've just posted - I know you all can relate
So brilliant and heartfelt, just makes sense and cuts through the bs.
Me too! :)

I'm just joining and stopping along to show some love. I totally have a tshirt that says "Feminism is the radical notion that women are people". I had a bumpersticker too, until someone ripped it off my car. lol
