hey guys plz i need help and its being annoying me for the past few months okay

i finish recovering from my eating disorder/anorexia in november, a during that time i was force to be pescetarianism until i was better so on november 10th 2014 i became vegan what i wanted to be for a long time but couldn't coz of my 2 years of that.

for the last 6 months i want to be a high car low fat vegan, but my parents and even my dietician would not alowed me and here are some of my parents reason
1. carb makes you fat
2.sugar makes you fat
3. all those other people that do that must be doing exercise 24/7
4. we by the food wait till you old enough to get your own place
5. it cost lot of money
6. you being brainwashed
7. do what your dietician say she's the expert she study in these for over 12 years

okay 1st, yeah i did gain weight coz i try it for a month before my parents made m stop. i do cardio 5 days a week and weight training 6 days a week, im already vegan why cant i be high carb low fat vegan. even my dietician would allow me to do that. im 16 150cm (short for my age haha-4.9 foot) 55 kg.

so my question is how can i get my parents and my dietician for letting me be a high carb low fat vegan thx you for your time

  • First off, you say you recover in november, but recovery doesn't take a certain time, but it is constantly working on your mind. You have to realise that you have to eat a lot and carbs only help the healing process. But I wouldn't suggest you eliminate fats at first, because it might cause more fear for food again. And did you give your body the rest it needed? It seems like you exercise a lot and it's just weird that your parents will let you do that, but not go vegan?! My parents won't let me go vegan either.. Because I've had an eating disorder as well, and they think I am still thinking obsessively about food and they don't trust me making my own choices. But they don't see that I have been much more relaxed around food. What I do, is that I make my own breakfast, lunch and snacks, and I only eat a little meat with dinner to satisfy them.

    Going vegan is a great idea and I can't get my parents to support me in any way, but you could educate them. Watch a lot of youtube vids and educate yourself first. There are enough people who recommend a vegan lifestyle for recovery and they give good advice and info!

    But please make sure you know your eating disorder. Sometimes it can trick you, but you have to know you're going vegan for the right reasons, not because your ed tells you to.

  • Go to Dr. Joel Fuhrman's site or look him up on youtube.  He's pretty much vegan and has helped "cure" many diseases that his patients had.  He gives the specifics of certain foods that are nutrient dense.  I lost 10lbs in a month eating this way and my daughter (14) is developing and is skinny, but in no way underweight.  She's basically been eating this way for almost 3 years. The most exercise she does is playing soccer and her short workout session she does every morning. She does not eat a little.  In fact, all 10 of my children eat this way and are all growing above the average health scale.  Because of this Nutritarian diet they are now combating diseases like cancer before it ever takes hold!

    I'm actually confused because both your dietician and parents know that you are recovering from an eating disorder, so why do they care what makes you fat or not? That whole topic about what does or doesn't make you fat is very triggering and the point of a recovery is to realize that it does not matter what our bodies look like-- it's what's within that matters. So why do they care about being fat or not if that means you're in a healthy mind set??
