I am almost 23 years old and about to graduate college. I have struggled with an eating disorder for eight years and have gone through and continue to go to therapy for it. I am far along in the process of recovery, i.e. at a healthy weight and not restricting my food intake at all, yet I still experience very large binging episodes one to a couple times a month and non-stop obsessive thoughts over my weight and food. Additionally, I am constantly fatigued and lack energy. A few years ago I found out that I have a positive ANA, which is something that is present with autoimmune disorders, yet I have not been diagnosed with a specific autoimmune condition. I stress out constantly about my health due to the fact that as a child I saw many family friends die from cancer, as well as my beloved father died last year at the age of 65 from esophageal cancer. The greatest tragedy of my life. Growing up my family was pretty health conscious, i.e. a lot of vegetarian meals served, which led to my interest in health and wellness (along with an eating disorder unfortunately). Over the years as I have been in the process of recovering from my eating disorder, found out that I am at high risk to develop an autoimmune disease, experience chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, and high levels of stress, I have become more and more interested in healthy eating and the ways that it can improve one's life and chances of avoiding disease and untimely death. A few weeks ago I came across freelee's website rawfitbitch and became so interested in her story and the way that her eating habits changed her entire life. This then led me to 30 bananas a day as well as harley's website. I think I have watched just about all of freelee and harley's videos at this point and now spend at least an hour each day on 30 bananas a day. I also have watched the many videos other 80 10 10 followers have put up on youtube. Over the past couple of weeks I have tried to follow 80 10 10 and freelee & harley's way of eating. Yet, I haven't been able to go more than 1-2 days pure 80 10 10 without breaking it for something like cottage cheese or tofu or cooked vegetables. From having an eating disorder for so many years it is hard for me to tell myself that something is totally off limits without feeling deprived and then wanting to binge on it. Also, I really don't want to gain weight, as that will trigger my eating disorder to restrict, yet I want to follow 80 10 10 the right way and eat at least 2500 calories or more a day. On the days that I have followed 80 10 10 I have eaten 3000 calories and either maintained or gained 1 pound, but I haven't stuck with it long enough to really see what happens as I cave in to my cravings for dairy, etc. I really want to live the abundant 80 10 10 lifestyle. On the days that I have followed the diet I have been a lot happier and felt more energy. Overall, I really want to be a part of the 30 bananas a day community so that I can have support and advice while transitioning to this lifestyle. I have a lot of questions regarding my caloric intake, exercise, overcoming cravings, dealing with social situations, and how to travel. I truly believe in my heart that 80 10 10 is the way that human beings are intended to eat and that our society has gotten so disillusioned over the years so that it thinks a big mac is normal eating and 5 bananas is disordered eating. Also, I have recently seen videos about how animals are kept and killed in slaughterhouses and for dairy farming and it has been such a disturbing experience. I cannot believe the torture we are inflicting upon these beings. It is beyond disturbing and tragic. Therefore, I don't want support that industry nor put something in my body that has experienced such extreme emotional, mental, and physical pain, torture, and abuse.

So glad to hear from you, Jessica! Glad you are doing well, and leaving the sad foods behind. :) Thank you for reading my blog. I am so glad people get something out of it. I am doing well. I really would like to be 100% LFRV, but with my finances and fruit availability, I have some challenges to get there. I have been 100% the last two days and I feel so much better physically. So we'll see how long it lasts. I don't get paid for 2 more days, and I just ran out of ripe bananas and dates this morning, so we'll see.
Hey girl, no posts in a couple of days. Is that a good sign or a bad sign? How are you doing? Hugs!
