Hello 30BaD. My name is Max. I live in Michigan, USA, although I haven't been here all my life, and moved here only a few years ago.
What brings me to 30 bananas a day? the same reason as anyone else, vegan-ism, community support, hunger for knowledge and guidance.
I have been vegan since the summer 2012, so only a few months now, and I love it, probably one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Honestly, never thought that I would ever become vegan, but as they say, "never say never", eh...
as probably everyone else, I used to think that vegans and vegetarians are weird and eat nothing but salads all day. silly, right? everyone used to be ignorant about the subject, as so was I.
I can't say that some sickness pushed me to research vegan-ism, I was always the healthiest kid at home and amongst my friends, regularly visited gym, and so on; still had some issues with gaining wait though when I would fall of the wagon of gym routine due to school or whatever other reasons, which was pretty frustrating, but I never thought it was due to the diet.
nevertheless I was always very interested in health and fitness, used to think that I knew a lot (obviously I didn't).
what triggered my research and the journey to vegan-ism is the movie "Forks Over Knives". It's funny because I heard about it from one of my co-workers at a time, who was obese and had diabetes, he was still a very nice guy. We were talking about health and nutrition one day, and at some point he mentioned that humans actually don't even need meat or dairy at all. as usually I laughed it off and tried to dismisses his claims, not too successfully. he advised me to watch "FoK" and see it to myself. I don't normally take advices on nutrition and health from overweight people, but I did take a look at the movie, took me a while to find it, lucky for me it was free on hulu.com. that movie really "lighted a candle", so to speak. after watching it, and few other movies on the same topic, I started researching vegan-ism. I started bumping into the big names that were present in FoK, like John Mcdougall, Caldwell Esselstyn, Neal Barnard, etc. and their works. watched some of their lectures for vegetarian society of Hawaii.
needless to say, I couldn't ignore their message, it was just so strong, so by the end of the summer I just decided to stop eating meat all together, and it didn't take me long to ditch the dairy as well.
my parents didn't understand it at first, but eventually they had to, because I wasn't going to back down.
although there was a time when I fell off the wagon a few months ago due to stress in college (was practically feeding myself peanut butter jelly sandwiches all day, and ending up eating a few chicken soups not realizing what I was doing), I am on track and going pretty strong.
I actually at one point tried to convince my parents to try vegan diet. my mom was the biggest success so far, although she isn't vegan, she practically eat very little meat, and doesn't consume any dairy; unfortunately my father doesn't believe in vegan-ism, keeps making same "meat eaters'" arguments, and it's really sad, because he is a really smart man, very active, and all together great person, but he keeps destroying his health, and I can see it more and more as time goes by.
the other reason that brings me here is simply because it was for a little while now that I have followed Durianrider and Freelee on You Tube. their videos really help. I've went through lots of health channels, some were alright, other not so much, but I found 30BaD crew to be most helpful, their message and videos feel like a breath of fresh air among the cloud of bullshit that is going on in health movement.
I should probably wrap it up, cause I already said too much, haha.

The Frugivore started this site to bring together frugivores across the Globe! Let us know what high fruit assistance do you need?
ammm, I don't really know what kind of assistance to ask for since I don't really know what can be provided. I am just beginning to switch to more fruit based diet from starch rich diet, so probably will need tips for that. I would like to be able to participate in forum discussions. that's it for now, if I come up with anything else, I am sure there would be a way to let you guys know ;)
