Hi, I've been looking at this website for a long time, but for some reason always been hesitant whether to sign up as a member, but now I think it might be more beneficial if I did. I've been a vegan for around 7 years and raw for about a year maybe. I was a raw vegan before i even found out about this website (mainly by accident really - i liked fruit and salad a lot..) so I think i discovered it from trying to research more and more about health and what benefits you get from different plants etc. ( I do this a lot and still do, ive felt ill almost my whole life so i think health has become a major priority that i spend lots of time studying into past few years). About a year and a half ago i became extremely ill, had lots of different water infections to the point where i'd be in the bathroom 4 hours at a time- my family didnt even see me most of the day, a skin infection, chronic constipation that led to being hospitalized for faecal impaction (not nice, one of the most painful things in my life), and the last thing which i still struggle with is a stomach/gut condition. My gastroenterologist once called it 'slow whole gut transit' and another time 'functional bowel disease', but apparently nobodys really heard of it, theres no info out there and not even they know much at all about it really. Basically since about a year and a half ago, I could not eat food at all. My system just could not tolerate it. Every time i tried to eat something it caused my stomach or my gut to be in agonising pain, i would also often bloat a lot so i looked like i had a huge round belly, and that just made the pain even worse. I would be eating ONE small meal a day - where i would go through phases of trying just one food and trying to find one which didn't hurt me. Of course i realised eventually that EVERYTHING caused me pain. I had a vegan yoghurt phase (mistakenly taking the advice that it must be good because of all them probiotics right? -_-) , a sweet potato phase, a broccoli phase, a porridge phase (trying out the 'bland food' thing which is a load of rubbish) , a banana phase (yes even this hurt), a phase where i ate nut butter on sourdough bread... etc. so i did end up trying everything solid. It would always be one small meal a day at the same time. This wasnt because i didnt want to eat. I really did. The reason was because it would take 24 hours before i felt i could eat again. It got to the point where they told me if i didnt eat more theyd force a feeding tube on me.That made me panic. I had a test done before where I drank this stuff called barium, and they watch on an x-ray scan how long it takes to pass through your system. Apparently it usually takes peoples stomachs about 20 mins or so to empty. I was going back and forth between the waiting room at the hospital and the room wiht the x-ray and I was there all day and had to come back the next morning becuase it still hadnt gone all the way through my system :/ They asked had i eaten anything before last night and i said no because they almost didnt believe me because they could see black circles on scans in my stomach or something like that. Well they asked first had i swallowed furballs haha because they werent expecting that on the scan but i said no. Anyway, from everything i came to the conclusion that i could not eat solid food and my gastro told me to go on a liquid diet. So I started then to make smoothies, my dad bought a Vitamix for me and i have lived mainly on green/fruit smoothies since. Ive done a lot of cheating in between but everytime i tried to cheat and eat something solid because i got so hungry, id be in agony again. I literally cannot get away with anything. And often even the smoothies made me feel sick and painful. Its been awful. Everytime i eat i feel pain. Lately it is not quite so bad but still not resolved. Ive realised i can only have raw fruits and greens now because everything else makes me ill.

What an amazing journey you've had, maybe try warm lemon & lime squeezed water or in cold water, its a very good cleanser and for a better term 'unblocker' :)
