*I cook once to twice a day lunch and/or dinner, I clean dishes daily right after a meal and my home once or twice a week, and I do freelance gigs from my desk.*
I live in Algeria and I'm a Computer Science bachelor. Currently studying for a Master's degree in Artificial intelligence.
I have always been on diets since middle school and I remember coming across eating high fruit back then but due to me having no budget and being in a 3rd world country, food is expensive, especially fruits nonetheless my mother told me I can only do it for a week which made me happy but it was like one banana a day haha... I was stuck trying to find a way to reach my goals and not being overweight although it doesn't show much on my body since I have been working out once a week until I graduated from highschool.
3 years later, I come back to actually learn what is the best diet for me. Some told me reduce startches, eat more vegetables, others say just control yourself and eat a "normal meal", intermittent fast 16/8...
For me a normal meal is a big plate of tasty food while getting fit and healthy.
I watched videos from the YouTube channel "Plant Based News" and "The Game Changers" documentary which made me fascinated that not only I can stop going up and down in weight each year but I could also reach my fitness goals (59kg with a 20% body fat).
I want to be fit and stop yo-yoing, I know the instagram fitness industry is basically photoshoped pictures and/or overdoing it with protein and too much workouts when that energy should be put in the food.
I do not like working out daily because I am busy studying and taking care of my family and I believe working out for none athletes should be at most 3 times a week.
I mean why put all that energy in workouts when I could have a better diet, workout once or twice a week and do other priorities.
I love challenging my self to better my life and my family's. When I saw this post I said why not? If there is a community I could get advices and figure the same budget we are currently spending me and my family (total 6 people).
