  • Hey sandra how goes the raw life for you and your son?
  • Hey Sandra, must say that judging from your photos your corner of the tropics looks very appealing! lol, if/when you do decide to give the lfrv thing a try you're certainly in a good location. The health benefits of 811 are astonishly fantastic too, as myself and countless others here can testify. Cheers my friend!
  • De nada, Sandra...Anytime
  • For sure there's strength in numbers, especially when those around you have your best interests at heart. Just as the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, so a diet followed 100% (whatever that means to you) is easiest and best. Still, should you feel the need to transition step-by-step at some point, you might wish to consider items like vegan cheese or raw pates, essene bread, or raw crackers. Avocado's are densely filling and might be a worthy cheese sub, too. When in doubt, choose the product with the fewest ingredients (and make sure they're all pronounceable) ;-)
  • Well, let's see...
Today was watermelon for my post-workout fueling, and I'll probably have a some more fruits and savory veggie/greens stew in a bit. I tend to consume many smoothies containing high quantities of fruit and sometimes greens. Also, while not ideal, I've really been recently digging what I call "icedream"--a blended sorbet-like creation of mostly frozen fruits, made of a banana base mixed with another more flavorful fruit such as berries. This blows even high quality standard icecreams out of the water, as my dad (a former icecream fiend) will attest.
Funny you should ask about normal. I recently had the opportunity to be in a new locale with extended family for a bit and found myself increasingly adding in some cooked food items that I hadn't had in many months, such as pasta, beans, cooked veggies, etc. No, the world did not end in fire and brimstone, and I certainly enjoyed the taste, but not without consequences such as much slower digestion, resultantly worse sleep, and mouth/tonsil pain and itchiness. Now I'm back on the wagon as it were, one day at a time, and am enjoying the restoration of my growingly greater health to which I've grown accustomed.
How progresses your own health path, Sandra?
  • Hey Sandra, on a 'good day' (when I eat enough) I aim for 3000+ calories.. During the day I tend to eat a lot of 'fruit soups', which are fruit and a small handful of greens and a stalk of celery blended.. So in the vitamix I can make a big bowl of banana soup, which is maybe 12 bananas with a bit of water and a handful of spinach + 1 stalk of celery. Might eat 2 or 3 bowls of this in a day. At dinner I eat a green soup which is basically a blended salad. Sometimes I'll eat a bunch of tomatoes before the soup.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi Sandra,
So nice to here from a kindred spirit. How do I eat raw you ask. I don't know, I just eat the fruits and veggies I like and when something doesn't feel quite the way I want to feel, I change it up a little. Today I started my day off with an apple, orange, some strawberries, tomatoes, raspberries, a kiwi and hemp seeds(about 50 grams). It should take me along for a few hours. All the things are organic which is probably why i am feeling so good. I'll have dragon fruit later and that is a really delicious fruit I think.

  • That is special to share mutual support with those with whom you reside. Props to your son who enjoys his produce so much. Spoken as a compatriot son, pls. know that regardless of your other son's current eating habits, he most certainly is watching you. You never can tell what might sink in someday :-)
Sounds like you're progressing on a fine path, especially with the great start of breakfast--take it at your own pace, keep learning, and you'll know what and when the next step is.
  • Anytime, Sandra. Enjoy your guests :-)
