They are on sale at http://www.medjooldatesales.com/store.htm, $40 for 11 pounds (I already have about 3lbs. in my fridge). Will they last for a couple months in the refrigerator? (Don't know when they were picked.)
Medjools are a high moisture content variety; wouldn't want to bite into a moldy one, ewww!
Thanks!

Most of the shops that sells dates have them out of the fridge, I've never seen dates being kepts in the fridge, ever...
Do you keep raisins in the fridge too?
Yeah, me too. Primarily for the reason of checking for larvae, but wouldn't want to bite into a black either!
umm, really? I have not heard this.
Then how long do they normally last outside the fridge?
$35 for 15 pounds plus shipping, they are good and chemical free:

2.33 per pound when you buy 45 pounds. Daym.
I heard the promotional dates are extremely hard though, which is why they're cheap. Someone on this forum site had to open them with a knife so they don't break off their nails.
But I think rock solid dates are better than no dates at all, soaking them would probably work. Time to buy extremely cheap dates! :D
