Hey, it's great to hear from you! That's fantastic that you're in 2 bands. The more you do anything, the more your confidence will grow with the given pursuit. You must be having a blast. I recently spent 2 weeks playing an average of 3 hours of guitar a day to focus on my singing, and then last weekend I wrote and recorded a new song and I found that my ability to sing in key and harmonize on command was greatly improved, as well as my versatility in vocal style. Do you sing as well?
I've been playing guitar for 10 years but my technical skill peaked about 4 to 5 years ago, during which I took a break and focused on the violin. How long have you been playing? Do you play any other instruments? What is your music style of choice? You look like a metal head, but I've been pre-judged as just about everything I'm not so I won't even go there. Do you have any recordings to share? I'd love to take a listen.

I have a request that you might be able to fulfill easily. I believe someone once told me that they throw away a lot of fruit in Italy (as is done anywhere else!), and that thus there was something called "the river of oranges" (all the oranges thrown away). If you could find a photo of it, or an article about it, it'd be nice if you could post it in the food thread in the Zeitgeist group. (I or the person who mentioned it could be wrong, so maybe there isn't anything to find.)

That's really cool that you've been studying Japanese. I bet you'd have an amazing time if you go to Japan and spend enough time, it should be a very valuable experience.The downside of their way of life however, I've heard is that society there is like a bee hive, very disciplined and hard-working, maybe almost to the point of robotization (don't take my word for it though). Last year when I was deciding on a specialty my dilemma was namely between Indology and Japanology.. so I chose lazy haha. No, there are concrete reasons for my decision other than convenience, but yes I suppose Japanese is far more difficult to learn than Hindi. Hindi's grammar doesn't seem hard. Translation is hard still though. I really like the whiting system, it's beautiful and fun to operate with.
Btw I'd also like to learn Italian one day, I believe I didn't list that in my last comment. I'm just beginning to understant what it means to be a linguist, once you study philology, if the interest is still alive it seems your life is forever partially devoted to learning languages and developing your communication skills..
