love to hike -- my favorites are at the Mohonk Preserve:

It is so beautiful there! :)
I used to rock-climb, but can't do it anymore...
I enjoy (trying to speak) German, yoga, some weight training, bouncing on rebounders/trampolines, reading, and domiKNITrix knitting.

(but i use yarn that is vegan, not animal derived)

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are...
Books:
*Carl Hiaasen's "Skinny Dip"
*Dante's "The Inferno" - no I'm not a Catholic or Christian. I just love the poetic mind he had... I have no 'religion' actually-- I believe in spirituality. I believe in life and nature and the 'godliness' of ALL things. If I had a 'religion' it would be Pagan or possibly Taoist.
*Tim Dorsey's "Torpedo Juice" -silly & twisted humor -kept me from losing my mind when I was hospitalized
*Marcus Aurelius Meditations
*The Golden Ass - translation from Latin by Robert Graves
*John Robbins "Diet for a New World"
*Scott Cunningham's "The Magic in Food"
*Dr. Neal Barnard's "Foods that Fight Pain";
*"Rawsome" by Brigitte Mars - not 811, but still a good reference book if a person is transitioning
*HP books -auf Deutsch
*"Medicine Woman" - Lynn Andrews
Movies:
*The Crawling Eye
*The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra (if you have a silly sense of humor - check it out)
*The Haunting
*Truly, Madly, Deeply
*Razor's Edge
*Jason & The Argonauts
*Clash of the Titans-- the 80's version! not the current 'Rambo" edition out there.
*Harold & Maude
*Contact
*Run Lola Run
*Pan's Labyrinth
*Sense and Sensibility
*Emma
*Enchanted April
*What's Up Doc?
*Repo Man
Series/Shows:
"I Claudius" - BBC
The Frugivore started this site to bring together frugivores across the Globe! Let us know what high fruit assistance do you need?
I love what I've seen of the community on this blog. I hope to learn & share.
Maybe it's true that one can only 'find' something when they are truly ready for it.... I transitioned to being more & more raw since the Summer of '07, but (until coming across 30 B.A.D.) I have never found a community like this one. One that is so passionate about 811, excited about being alive, & holding a beautiful reverence for all life.
It's very exciting!
The Frugivore Diet is a fruit-based vegan internet community which promotes a high carb fruit based vegan lifestyle free of any animal products. Our forum does not tolerate encouragement of anything contrary to this. Nor do we allow endorsement of non-vegan items or practises which involve the imprisonment, exploitation, abuse or murder of sentient beings. Take care gg!
No, I don't think you came off as anything but protective of animals! :) I just wanted to make sure my point was understood, I didn't mean to belabor it as I did. I did watch Earthlings and it really disturbed me and easily reconvinced me of the wrongs of consuming animal products, along with my body's reactions. Thanks for taking the time to write that comment though, and be assured that I wasn't offended, and I hope I didn't offend you too much either.
Peace,
Amber
You'd be shocked when you find out what my nickname is... :P
