What are the ethics of cats if you are vegan?
I love my cats and I imagine I will always have cats, but if we as vegans are trying to get rid of the factory farms and the horrid slaughter of animals etc, which we/I do, then my dilemma is, once noone eats meat and no animals are killed for meat, what would I feed my cat? They are carnivores so I don't believe that a vegan diet is anymore healthy for them than a meat eating one is for me?Or do we think that there will always be butchers and meat from farms as apposed to factory farms?A…

Has anyone else done this and if so, is it wise? My cat's body doesn't have a scratch on him. Isa

Peter thanks, I couldn't find much information about the differences in energy systems in carnivores, herbivores and omnivores :)
I was questioning some things and I was wondering if my domestic house cat was using different energy inside his animal body cells then humans. So humans burn primary glucose (ATP) in there mitochondria. Don't all animal cells have mitochondria that run on glucose??? My cat doesn't care about carbohydrates, he wants to eat something fatty and high in protein...but is this all converted to glucose? Just questioning some things here ;D
I know how you feel, I don't have a cat either and can't have one as my tenancy agreement doesn't allow pets. I used to have 2 cats with my ex and he ended up with them, then it got worse, he dumped them on his Mum to look after. I was so upset and disgusted with him. I would've gladly had them and I still miss them. Will have to post some pics of them on here at some point
Check the look on my cat's face, poor kitty still adapting to life with a new contender for attention!
