I guess I just need some general support and encouragement as I eliminate cooked foods.

Nonsense! No time is a bad time :) This just means we have to wear EXTRA layers this winter ;)
And by the way - I tend to keep my mouth shut until someone asks about my lifestyle. I am never pushy, but some people (my mom) regularly accuses me of this if I try to gently explain why veganism (especially raw) is the best choice.

People get so upset and emotionally charged when it comes to food. It is unbelievable. But you're right - an asshole is an asshole, regardless of his or her diet!!
