Hi! I am enjoying an ongoing journey to learn what is the best way to be kind to my body. The last two summers i worked out that raw veg was the way to go though I coupled it with LOTS of animal protein. As the weather got colder I found I could not sustain it and craved more meat and then simple carbs and finally would be fully addicted once more to bread/cakes/sugar and ever increasing amounts of meat. Two months ago I decided that it was time to reduce my animal protein intake and set to investigate vegetarian diets and quickly found many sites discussing RAW. It was obvious to me this was the path to follow. I started pretty much exchanging meat for nuts for the first few weeks (till I was well and truly OVER them) then hugely increased my intake of green leafy veg with green smoothies etc. The following weeks I found my general incliniation was to keep simplifying things. After about two months of high fat RAW I looked up the 30BaD website after being told of it by another member of the Melbourne Raw meetup group. The philosophy fit beautifully with where my journey was up to and I happily switched to testing out mono-meals two days ago and I look forward to having the support of this community as I continue to work out the way ahead. I love the amount of interaction and the prompt answers and suggestions that questions raised generate. The next step is to actually read 80/10/10! Am eagerly awaiting my copy to arrive in the mail.

I am a person who likes to explore and really understand the "whys and wherefores" of what I am doing. I am happy to continue changing and modifying my practice as my bodys' needs change and develop. Initially I am wanting to understand the idea of "3000cal" per day. Is this the recommended starting position for everyone? Or is it dependant on activity levels etc. I assume I will understand more once I get to read 80/10/10. Until then I will gain as much understanding from 30BaD as I can. Thanks for setting up this community.

Hi Melbourne 811er!
The Melbourne community is about to transfer to a brand new Group on 30BAD. Why? We have had a few website issues with the current group, and the easiest way to fix this is to start afresh.
The existing Melbourne 811 Group is due to removed over the coming days. Thank you for your understanding, and we intend to get things rolling as quickly as possible!
Please join us at: http://www.30bananasaday.com/group/811-melbournians - for all things 811 in Melbourne.
See you there!
Hi Ali, Welcome! :)
A great place to start for a few hours worth of the basics to get you on track! :)
All aboard the Banana Welcome Wagon!
