  • Yeah it was really really hard getting my parents to accept it and I would get into huge fights with them every few days but honestly if its something you really really want to do then you just have to stick with it because they can't actually force you to do anything (assuming you're around 16 or older) but yeah for me I bought soy protein powder to mix in with my smoothies which influenced them a bit but tbh don't get soy protein get rice protein powder because I could literally put in half a teaspoon into a litre smoothie and still taste it! But yeah you just have to really know youre facts about nutrition so that if they question you then you can answer in detail and so that they know that you arent just following it because you heard about it but youve actually done research and know what youre doing :) Also about getting dates in hk yes you can in certain areas I usually go to 'Jasons' which is a slightly more expensive supermarket and they sell a packet of them for about 55hkd (or 7.80 aus) which is a little pricey compared to most fruit in hk but yeah here is what the packaging looks like http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/dates-p... but yeah those have been the best fresh I could find in my area and from a supermarket :)

  • I went from eating meat every single day sometimes twice a day to not eating it at all for about two months and my parents basically lost it so they forced me to eat a small thing of fish once a week for a bit but now I'm fully vegan :)  Basically I do alot of sport so I would need a really high amount of sugar hits and I used to get those through sports drinks and stuff but basically you really just have got to get the banana smoothie with coconut sugar in the morning to start you off or a huge fresh orange juice but yeah honestly if you are eating enough carbs then you shouldnt feel cravings and so if you do crave then ask yourself if youve had enough and why you feel like you want that but yeah in desperate times once every few weeks if I feel like something a little bit naughty then go oreos bc theyre vegan but make sure you arent making it a regular occurance :) Best way to stay on board the vegan lifestyle is to keep a variety so you arent getting bored and get excited to try new things:)
